Front Desk Coordinator – Order Entry Support
AWT Labels & Packaging is currently looking for a positive, team oriented, detail-oriented person who has excellent communication skills to be a part of Minneapolis customer service team! Our Front Desk Coordinator/Order Entry Support professional is responsible for providing customer support for customer service department. This position coordinates all activities of the front desk and other administrative tasks. Our customer service team upholds AWT’S expectation for great customer service and monitoring high customer satisfaction.
Position Duties
- Assist customer service department with order entry and administrative support
- Review customer generated order and inventory reports to identify and highlight issues to customer service
- Initiate job orders and ensure information entered is complete and accurate
- Prepare customer billing folders for invoicing
- Answer and direct all incoming calls
- Ensure office security by following safety procedures and controlling access to building via main entrance
- Greet visitors and perform visitor screening protocols
- Sort and distribute mail
- Prepare invoices and payables/checks for mailing
- Review incoming orders for completeness and accuracy
- Perform purchase order to job confirmation review
- Monitor and order office, production, and cleaning supplies
- Schedule meetings/conference rooms as needed
- Various administrative tasks for and special projects (data collection, mass mailings, etc.)
- Daily filing of job folders and invoices
- Point person for employee events and participate in employee committee

AWT Labels & Packaging is currently looking for a Rewind Operator at our Minneapolis narrow web production facility focused on flexographic labeling and packaging conversion. Rewind Operators are responsible for safe and efficient operation of rewind equipment.
Job Duties
- Safe and efficient operation of rewind equipment
- Check to ensure that parts meet requirements of specs and order
- Be sure all product requirements are understood before starting each job and able to rewind job with information provided
- Gather materials as needed for jobs to be completed in order of ship date
- Ensure counter is set correctly, determine correct repeat and that correct tensions are set, and appropriate accessories are used
- Continuously inspect product to ensure that finished product meets order and spec requirements and that any flagged product is removed
- Ensure that rewind checklist, and other paperwork including core labels, is accurate
- Ensure all paperwork is legible and accurate
- Be actively involved and interface with day-to-day department process management and be aware of department workload, activities and performance.
- Participate in quality improvement initiative to ensure customer satisfaction and that all jobs meet or exceed estimated times.

Job Duties
- Stage inks, dies, material and mount plates for assigned presses
- Demount and Return items after press runs are completes
- Assist in cleaning up presses, press components (pans, anilox rolls & doctor blades) and staging for upcoming runs
- Assist with other press needs like returning material, cutting cores, and emptying trash, etc.
- Assist in efficient and complete press changeover
- Perform other various plant support activities
- Actively monitor and manage press needs based on department workload
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure all jobs meet or exceed estimated time and materials.

Human Resources Generalist (30 hrs per week – flexible dayshift schedule)
AWT Labels & Packaging is currently looking for a positive, team-oriented, and detail-oriented person who also has excellent communication skills to join our Minneapolis human resources team! Our Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day Human Resource operations including but not limited to, onboarding/offboarding, employee relations and recognition, HR compliance, performance management, training administration, and employee development.
This position performs a variety of HR administration functions including overseeing the recruiting and hiring processes, initial training, new associate orientation, administering benefits, entering associate information into the HRIS system, maintaining personnel files, responding to employee inquiries, and maintaining EEO/AA records.
Position Duties
- Build and cultivate solid relationships, working effectively with all levels of the organization ensuring an employee focused /employee centric approach to managing situations
- Responsible for talent acquisition/recruiting and on-boarding of candidates for open positions, including sourcing, screening, scheduling, and participating in interviews, pre-employment screening, orientation coordination
- Responsible for administration of all benefits for all employees including health, dental, life, vision, 401k, flexible spending accounts, LTD, STD, employee assistance program,
- Responsible for benefit invoice reconciliation
- Assist with insurance open enrollments including creating communications and participating in meetings.
- Responsible for entering and maintaining data in Ascentis HRIS system
- Communicate and validates pertinent benefit changes to payroll for processing; (This happens automatically from Ascentis HRIS to Ascentis Payroll)
- Enter and reconciles PTO for payroll processing; (Time Off Requests to Employee Attendance Tracker)
- Audit written job descriptions to ensure they are in place, updated, and communicated as necessary
- Enter employee training into training database
- Responsible for completion of industry specific wage and benefit surveys
- Support for subsidiary locations as requested
- Provide input to HR Manager on key processes in the organization, to include (but not limited to) performance management, succession planning, employee and labor relations, and safety
- Support administration of policy and procedures on attendance including FMLA, funeral leave, jury duty, military leave, workers compensation, and other request for time off.
- Maintain employee personnel and benefits files in accordance with applicable laws, company policies and procedures
- Provide payroll administration support as assigned
- Process employment verifications as requested
- Complete Unemployment Claims
- Support EEO-1 Survey processing/reporting
- Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives as requested by management
- General office administrative duties as needed for Executive Office personnel.

Maintenance Technician – Day Shift
AWT Labels & Packaging is currently looking for a Maintenance Technician for our Minneapolis narrow web production facility focused on labeling and packaging conversion. Our Maintenance Technicians are responsible for preventive maintenance of all equipment, general repairs, and special projects throughout the Company.
Job Duties
- Perform and maintain all planned preventive maintenance according to weekly checklist and monthly log
- Promptly address all maintenance requests
- Ensure that major breakdowns of equipment are addressed promptly
- Ensure that all parts to repair equipment get ordered promptly as needed with arrival dates sensitive to production schedule
- Order parts doing comparing pricing and quality to get the job done in a cost-effective manner
- Flexibility to come in at unscheduled times if necessary
- Schedule and prioritize tasks and responsibilities without direct supervision.
- Keep maintenance area neat and organized
- Maintain AWT owned tools and labels parts as to which equipment it pertains to.
- Keep spare/back-up parts inventoried as needed and maintained on a list.
- Maintain ample supply of press related supplies, oil, grease, bearings, etc.

Press Operator – 2nd and 3rd Shift
AWT Labels & Packaging is currently looking for a Press Operator for our South Elgin wide web printing facility focused on flexographic printing and laminated structures. Our Press Operators are responsible for setup, operation, and cleanup flexographic 10-color, wide web, gearless press, producing product that meet customer needs while maintaining a clean, safe working environment.
Job Duties
- Follow daily press schedule and ensure all required paperwork is complete and accurate
- Ensure output meets customer specification
- Good working knowledge of inks and pH viscosity levels
- Maintain colors and registration per specifications
- Effectively troubleshoot problems
- Ensure setups and changeovers are well planned
- Participate in the quality and process improvement process
- Provide support in other areas of plant as needs arise
